Designed with absolute beginners in mind, this course provides a gentle and supportive introduction to YOGA. You'll learn basic yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and relaxation techniques, all in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Do you want to get into yoga but don't know where to start?

This course is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is new to yoga, beginner or even experienced yogi who would like to refresh the basics and building blocks of yoga.

What to Expect

Over the course of five weeks, you'll learn the foundational elements of yoga, including:

  • Basic yoga postures (asanas): Develop strength, flexibility, and balance through gentle and accessible postures. Improve mobility and coordination.

The classes are focused on correct alignment in particular poses/asanas, safety in practice. Hopefully it will help you to become more confident to join a regular class or practice safely at home

I will offer modifications and adjustments to suit your individual needs and abilities. The emphasis is on creating a safe and welcoming space where you can progress at your own pace.

I will teach you how to make use of props to support your practice to find more ease and space in your body.

You will gain confidence in your own body and develop  a deeper awareness of body and mind.

This is a mat-based course. You will need to be able to get up and down from the floor.

  • Breath awareness and control (pranayama):  Cultivate calm and focus through simple breathing techniques.

We will be exploring the power of breath. You will learn how to move and connect with your breath, using it as a tool to calm the mind.

  • Meditation and relaxation techniques : Experience the benefits of deep relaxation, mindfulness and stress reduction.

Every class will conclude with a period of relaxation. You will have the opportunity to unwind, let go of tension, and integrate the benefits of your practice. This time is yours to cultivate a sense of peace and tranquility.

  • Yoga philosophy: Gain insights into basic principles and practices of yoga.

You will also have a chance to meet like-minded people and make friends.

In order to provide you with a good learning environment and a safe space to ask questions and grow, places are limited. Booking is absolutely essential.

What to bring

-Comfortable not restricting movement clothing 

-Yoga mat (I will supply one if you need) and any other props you might have

-Open mind and positive energy

We will practice barefoot 

You Don’t Have To Be Flexible

Your flexibility, strength, mood and general well being improve with a regular practice. Yoga also teaches you to breathe more deeply, with awareness, and to settle into the relaxation that it brings. It is the perfect balm for the stresses of modern living.
